As a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, I offer a variety of weekend workshops throughout the year that are designed to support and enhance your regular weekly yoga classes and your personal practice. From “Recharge with Standing Poses” to “Twist & Shout” to “Relax & Restore” and Solstice Celebrations, there is a yoga workshop with you in mind!

Yoga Alliance Registered Teachers can receive Continuing Education credits for participating in workshops given by Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers; please ask for a Certificate of Completion when you register.

Workshop Descriptions

Twist & Shout! Yoga Detox Workshop

Twists are the “rinse & refresh” for our digestive organs. The twisting action compresses the abdominal organs and result in a lack of circulation. When the twist is released, the abdominal organs are flooded with fresh blood. That rush of blood flow brings fresh oxygen and nutrients into the abdominal organs and thereby cleanse the organs of built up waste.

In a similar manner, inversions bring fresh blood to our brain and endocrine system that our hearts normally have to work to pump fresh blood to, while our lower extremities experience a lack of circulation. When we release the inversion, blood rushes back to our lower bodies bringing a fresh supply of oxygen and nutrients with it.

In this workshop, we will explore a variety of standing, seated and supine twists. Established students will progress in their practice of inversions and new students will be introduced safely to inversion preparations.

We will also cover a balanced sequence of seated and restorative poses to reap all of the benefits of an detoxifying twist and inversions practice.

Triple Treat Workshop

We will explore a balanced variety of standing, seated, supine and restorative poses to remove stiffness and build strength, stamina and balance in the shoulders, core and in balancing poses in order to prepare us for back bends and poses with backward extension.

Winter Solstice Candlelight Restorative Workshop

As the days get shorter, most other mammals are retreating into a winter hibernation. Yet, we humans make ourselves busier than ever in December! Take an afternoon during this busy time to relax and rejuvenate with the Winter Solstice Candlelight Restorative.

This 3 hour restorative yoga workshop will include supported standing poses, seated poses, classic supine restorative poses, supported savasana and guided breathing.

For Winter Solstice, we use muted lights and artificial candlelight (for fire safety code).
